RECOGNITION & CREDIBILITY

What makes a founder worth recognising?

A meaningful recognition programme should reward verified work, not the loudest story or the biggest marketing budget.

Look for evidence, not theatre

A founder’s journey is more than a pitch. Useful evidence may include customer retention, repeat orders, revenue quality, responsible operations, jobs created, products delivered and problem knowledge. Different business models need different measures.

Understand the circumstances

A service business in a smaller Assam district may face distribution and talent problems unlike those of an urban venture-backed technology startup. Assessment should compare progress against context rather than blindly reward absolute scale.

Separate review from revenue

Sponsorship and ticket income may support an event’s delivery, but financial participation should not create selection advantage. Clear jury standards, conflict disclosures and recorded decisions are part of earning trust.

What founders can prepare

A succinct business profile, honest metrics, impact evidence and a clear account of difficult decisions can make a founder application stronger without expensive promotional material.
